Later that month, CBS released its 2020-2021 Fall Primetime Schedule, according to which the next season of ‘S.W.A.T.’ was supposed to premiere as a midseason replacement at some point in early 2021. On May 6, 2020, the network announced that the renewal of the series for season 4. Ultimately, episode 21 served as the makeshift finale of season 3. However, owing to the pandemic, the production was halted in March 2020, with the shooting for the final episode still to be completed. Originally, the producers had plans to end season 3 with 22 episodes in total. ‘S.W.A.T.’ season 3 premiered on October 2, 2019, on CBS, and ran for 21 episodes before concluding on May 20, 2020.
